Japanese encephalitis is a viral disease found in South-East Asia and the Indian subcontinent. The infection is spread by the bite of an infected mosquito. Symptoms can include:
- high temperature (fever)
- seizures (fits)/convulsions
- Meningitis/stiff neck, headaches
- uncontrollable shaking of body parts (tremor)
- muscle weakness or paralysis
